James Courtney delivered a remarkable performance to claim victory in Race 27 of the 2015 Castrol Gold Coast 600, completing a memorable comeback after missing both the Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint and the Bathurst 1000 through injury. Returning to the cockpit of the Holden Racing Team’s #22 Holden VF Commodore, Courtney showed no signs of rust, charging to a hard-earned win on the streets of Surfers Paradise. The victory was made even more special by the contribution of co-driver Jack Perkins, who impressed throughout the weekend with strong and consistent pace.
